join us for a teach-in with afro-french actress aïssa maïga.
she will talk about her personal experience as a black woman in french and world cinema, her fight for the visibility of minorities in french film, and her involvement as a citizen in the new wave of french antiracism.
this event will be the kickoff of an antiracist film club that will become a regular and organic component of the film studies program. students will select films available on the kanopy streaming platform and take turns facilitating a discussion on how these films address systemic racism.
